Overview
Why write on a subject like this, well it is something I am often asked about and very often the clients think it is a trivial condition, but sometimes there is a great deal more to it than first meets the eye. I think in the human field it can be regarded as a trivial condition which we have all experienced from time to time and so the temptation is not to take it seriously when we see the same thing in dogs. What we are talking about here is chronic nose bleed which is occurring for no discernible cause, acute non serious nose bleed is actually quite uncommon in the dog.
So how common is this condition? When I was in practice I used to see a case which I regarded as serious perhaps every five or six months.
